Fuzzy's Vodka Indy 500 Commemorative Bottles Hitting Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (April 24, 2018)

As the official vodka of the world-renowned Indianapolis 500, Fuzzy’s Vodka has once again produced “commemorative” bottles celebrating not only the Indy 500 but also representing our deep ties to Indianapolis and racing fans the world over. This year Fuzzy’s vodka pays tribute to the iconic career of A.J. Foyt, one of the greatest race car drivers of all time.

“A.J. Foyt is a personal hero of mine and one of the biggest reasons I became a lifelong race fan,” said Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles. “I can’t think of a better or more popular decision for Fuzzy’s to make than celebrating his historic career. I’m looking forward to seeing all of these commemorative Indy 500 Fuzzy’s Vodka bottles in stores around Central Indiana soon.”

The commemorative bottles will be available in two sizes: 750ml and a liter. There will be four different 750ml bottles available, each showcasing one of A.J. Foyt’s four Indy 500 wins. The liter bottle is a collage of his winner circle pictures with the back label highlighting some of A.J.’s greatest achievements. The bottles will soon be available on Indiana store shelves and in bars and restaurants throughout the state.

“When we looked at creating a commemorative bottle that recognizes A.J. Foyt, we quickly realized that a single bottle would not do his legendary career justice,” said Paul Massey C.O.O. of Fuzzy’s Spirits. “We decided to create individual bottles for each of A.J.’s four Indy 500 wins as well as a liter bottle highlighting his overall racing career.”

This tribute marks the first time that Foyt’s career has been celebrated by a spirits company.

Of the commemorative bottles, Foyt remarked: “I’m proud to be working with Fuzzy Zoeller because he was known to be one of the top golfers in the world and he is a great guy. Honoring my wins at Indy in this way is really special. These Fuzzy’s Vodka bottles are beautiful, and I think race fans will enjoy them too.

About A.J. Foyt

Spanning the better part of four decades, A.J. Foyt’s career was second to none. While others have matched some of his most impressive records, such as four Indianapolis 500 triumphs, none have been able to match his success and astonishing diversity in auto racing. He is the only race car driver in history to record seven Indy car national championships (1960-61, 1963-64, 1967, 1975, and 1979), win a record sixty-seven Indy car races, and win a record nine 500-mile races (the Indianapolis 500® in 1961, 1964, 1967, and 1977; the Pocono 500 in 1973, 1975, 1979, and 1981; and the California 500 in 1975). He is also the only driver ever to win the Indianapolis 500, the Daytona 500®, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans®, and, the only driver to win the Indianapolis 500 in both a front-engine and a rear-engine race car. His USAC career record for total victories is 159. It is because of these historic and emblematic accomplishments that A.J. Foyt, or “Super Tex” as known by his legions of fans, was named as “Driver of the Century” by the Associated press in 1999 (along with Mario Andretti).

About Fuzzy's Vodka

Fuzzy's Vodka was established in 2009. It gets its award-winning taste from a unique production process. The vodka is distilled from American corn and then filtered through charcoal and lava. After distilling, a portion of the distillate is rested in new oak barrels, an extremely rare process in the production of vodka. The addition of Cascade Mountain spring water, known as some of the purest water in the world, completes the process. The combination creates an exceptional final result culminating in a smooth, creamy, crisp finish. Fuzzy's has received countless awards for its quality including a 95 rating from the prestigious Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
